Just talked with Susan this am. She says all is peaceful in Ndathi and generally that life has gone on as usual. Joseph- Susan’s nightwatchman cousin- has been taking a matatu to Nyeri for medicines and other supplies. These are more expensive than in Nairobi, but of course they do not want to travel any further at this time. The Kenyan Government has sent a request to all people for food and supplies for the many in need, and they have organized in the community for these things to be gathered and distributed other places. Joyce the nurse from Nyeri who interviewed to work as the third nurse at SMH wants to move with her two children to Ndathi. They are waiting to see what happens particularly this week as there has been a call for more demonstrations. Everyone is continuing to pray. Susan said that the situation and the dependence on God and prayer has caused them to see Him in very special ways. They are feeling HIS presence. She, of course, asked us to continue to pray with them. They recently got two guard dogs for the compound. One died, and they think he ate a poisonous frog. Be forewarned about eating frogs. That’s it for now! Poppy
